No lag for me last night. And Hooray, my mate has his box back from Microsoft, so finally some squad gaming last night with him an another mate who just got live. Definately better in a squad with some banter going back and forth.
Not to say its terrible outside a squad - I've had a week playing on my own and yes it can all get a bit random, but you work out who the organised players are and stick with them. And if there isn't any, then switch maps!
Ok things I dislike about Battlefield:
1) Spawn campers. Just **** off and stop killing everyone as soon as they pop into existence.
2) Glitchy splash damage. A 40mm grenade at your feet? Should kill, not explode and nothing happens or disappear through the ground with no explode!
3) Glitchy knife kills. Not often but sometimes you knife someone, get the animation and the stab noise and nothing happens. Happened twice on the same guy last night, somehow he still didn't know I was there though.
4) Fools who all hang around the blackhawk/apache spawn point ignoring the rest of the game until they get to fly.
5) The same fools who then fly the blackhawk/apache straight into the ground.
6) Spawning on the squad leader. Yes its useful, but when you're in combat with an enemy and suddenly 3 of his mates pop into existence right next to him, its a little unfair. At the very least you should only be able to spawn on the squad leader when they're not actually doing any shooting.
I enjoyed the predictability of the opposing team last night. Jungle map, a big load of their snipers went straight for the lighthouse. After realising that that was all they were going to do, me and my mate were sat at the back of our base behind a crate and sniped anyone who appeared in the windows and roof of the lighthouse, thinking they'd give up and at least try and attack the M-COMs, but no, head after head after head appears in the window, BANG headshot, new head please! It went on for 20 minutes and frankly became farcical (and hilarious). I mean you can see who kills you FFS and where they are, if the same guy gets you two or three times from the same location, you then take steps to go and take the fucker out! Nothing quite as satisfying as knifing some cunning sniper whose killed you a few times.
