To further justify your clumsy choices, you put in Halo 1 without putting Halo 3, Modern Warfare instead of Modern Warfare 2 and you put GTA San Andreas AND GTA 4 and over four Mario-related games when you "obviously" don't do more than one game from the same series. This obviously shows some extreme bias on your part. Even my Dad, brother and friends all agree that your Top 100 list is completely stupid.
Apart from the fact lists like this always come down to personal preference no matter how objective and professional the publication is, in general gTM didn't include more than one instalment in a particular series unless the games in question were significantly different from one another. For instance, whilst San Andreas and GTAIV are concurrent entries in the same franchise, they are developed with very different principals; with San Andreas offering a
vast playground centred on fun and outlandishness, while GTAIV scaled it all back and offered a smaller but more detailed environment with more focus on realism. Half Life and Half Life 2 are similar games that play similarly, so I can understand that they both were not featured - although I would agree with gTM that HL2 is the better game. In the case of Halo and CoD4 though, I think most people here would broadly agree that they are the better games and had more of an impact in their own series and the gaming landscape as a whole than their sequels.
