The fact it was the lowest selling issue ever as a result of the choice of the game says something about the gaming industry - it's become similiar to music and tv where the really good stuff largely gets ignored.

And that's where parents who play games come in. My eldest daughter loves to sit and watch me play Okami and now she's grown in confidence through using the Wii she likes to help out in Okami, (which basically means I sit and watch and point which way to go and fight the ocasional monster).

Should my kids interest in gaming last I want to show them that there's more to video games than guns, cars and bald space marines.

Cracking issue all round. One of the best yet. I particularly enjoyed your time with Ono and the behind the scenes of Burnout 3: Takedown. I did enjoy the the Peter Molyneux interview up to a point, but I found the article did spend too much time focusing on Kinect and Milo.

Still, a great read throughout this month.

I ended up with the Silent Hill 2 cover, which suits me fine as its one of my favourite games. :)

Looks like a great issue but I'm taking my time with it, the games magazines in Canada aren't too great in comparison so I want to make it last.

Just read the Burnout 3 feature (been a bit slow reading this month). One of the greatest reads ever that was, very well done. Surprising to hear the honesty about EA too. We were right to be worried when they went to EA back then  Thankfully it all worked out.

Surprised to read their reaction to having to make an open world game too when thats what they ended up doing anyway with BP (& the upcoming NFS). Shame they changed their opinion as BP was a massive disappointment to me.

As for the re-release - **** yeah! Make it happen. Would buy that in an instant on XBLA. Especially since online for original the Xbox has been closed now. Give us the full game though, dont cut loads of content just because its a XBLA game like some companies do.

As for the best in the series - its Burnout 2 for me actually. But Burnout 3 is extremely close. They're different enough to be counted seperately though IMO.

Frankly, I am very very very VERY disappointed in Issue 100. I have enjoyed issues of games for a long time. But this issue was an outrage.

But before I discuss the flaws I will talk about the few good parts of this issue. The reviews were good and 25% (exactly) of the 100 "Greatest" Games of All Time were smart choices. But there was one thing about the issue which sparked my anger. The top 100 list. It was extremely one-sided and littered with several games which hardly anybody would call revolutionary.

As an example, how could you put Half-Life 2 in the list WITHOUT putting the original Half-Life as well? To further justify your clumsy choices, you put in Halo 1 without putting Halo 3, Modern Warfare instead of Modern Warfare 2 and you put GTA San Andreas AND GTA 4 and over four Mario-related games when you "obviously" don't do more than one game from the same series. This obviously shows some extreme bias on your part. Even my Dad, brother and friends all agree that your Top 100 list is completely stupid.

Maybe instead of using your own opinions ask the general gaming public about which games are the best. Don't take this personally, but I have lost interest in your magazine and instead started reading the (largely) superior Games Master, which is more objective.

I'm sure when it comes to issue 200 and another list is put together they will make sure to run it past you and your dad so the opinions turn out correct and not completely stupid.

But to be fair, I agree with them regarding those choices. I also think Halo is better than Halo 3, and MW is better than MW2.

You just gotta get over the fact other people like different games. Some of my personal favourites aren't in there (Killer7, Psychonauts and Ninja Gaiden) but others are so fair do's I think.

Modern Warfare instead of Modern Warfare 2

Because MW 2 is quite crap, perhaps?

Apart from the fact lists like this always come down to personal preference no matter how objective and professional the publication is, in general gTM didn't include more than one instalment in a particular series unless the games in question were significantly different from one another. For instance, whilst San Andreas and GTAIV are concurrent entries in the same franchise, they are developed with very different principals; with San Andreas offering a vast playground centred on fun and outlandishness, while GTAIV scaled it all back and offered a smaller but more detailed environment with more focus on realism. Half Life and Half Life 2 are similar games that play similarly, so I can understand that they both were not featured - although I would agree with gTM that HL2 is the better game. In the case of Halo and CoD4 though, I think most people here would broadly agree that they are the better games and had more of an impact in their own series and the gaming landscape as a whole than their sequels.

If you disagree and want to discuss it properly on the forum, then by all means join us here and let us know what you think - I myself have certainly had plenty to say on the matter. Just keep it clean if you do, and lay off any personal jibes or insults.

Did anyone get a Devil May Cry 3 cover? :( Seems like this is a lost cause. I'm a huge DMC fan and would love the DMC cover. I have a Super Metroid cover if anyone wishes to trade, please let me know.
