Currently I'm going through the rest of God of War 2. I think this is even better than the original! The last few boss fights have been implemented brilliantly and the story has kept me enthralled for the duration. Roll on GoW 3

I've also completed Megaman 9 another 3 times. I managed to get the Ammo Conservationist award (use as little weapons energy as possible) which was harder than I remember! I also managed to clear the game as Protoman which was dead fun - the final boss was really tough though since he could deal out so much damage in 1 hit!

Had quite a packed gaming weekend - quite a rarity !

MW2 special ops - really good.

Unchartered 2 - was so wrong about this one, at first thought hmmm, not sure why so hyped and was not that taken with the combat. But, i'm now eating serious humble pit - now reached chapter 14 (or 15) and wow, what a game. It is seriously like taking part in an action film, the graphics and set pieces are amazing - but you all knew that already !

Fallout 3, another couple of quality hours spent in the wastelands. As a side note, i picked up the book 'The road' last week. In an old edition of the mag there was a feature on Fallout3 and the designers mentioned the book so have been keeping an eye out for it. Reading this (i'm about 1/2 way through) is really adding to the experience of fallout 3 - not in a direct way, but in a subtle 'shit, this is really how bad it would be' kind of way.

World of Warcraft - decided to have a little look at this via the free trial as was pottering about on the laptop. Spent about 2 hours in total reaching level 8. Not really my bag i think.

Finally, having been bored of WOW restarted an oblivion game on the laptop. Never actually completed the main mission on this, so may try to over the course of the year (and can play this without dominating the telly).

Played Modern Warfare 1 for the majority of my day. Bit behind the times I know, but a surpisingly good single player campaign (bar the ending). Not usually a fan of FPS but after giving BioShock a solid play-through I think I've unearthed my love for them.

Found Killzone 2 for £9.99 yesterday so started playing that, first level - very impressive.

And the discovery of Borderlands for £17.99, albeit not strictly an FPS, I think I'm set for a couple of weeks or so with BioShock 2 as well. :D

Really? I thought the ending was up there with the best of them.

yes!! yes!! finally on to the fire dungeon in spirit tracks after getting stuck on the pan flute bit before which felt like for an eternity!! the problem is it's been so long since i've actually played the game i've forgotten who all the characters are, and all these funny little notes i've left my self. just have to take a massive trip afterwards to all the little x's and t's i've left every where.

EDIT: just had the greatest battle with the boss!! you have to make your way to a mine cart and spin around the boss shooting arrows at the yellow bits, then one in the eye, then run over to it and batter his brain with the sword!! i went in with 4 hearts, quickly grabbed a couple out the vases which i quickly lost and beat him with 1 1/2 heart containers left. then i left and i think the train theme is possibly one of the greatest bits of zelda music theme's composed it's just so...heroic. although the pan flute bits hold me back dramatically the actual game is a god send.

damn i love zelda games.

I spent the night playing Uncharted on PS3. It's my first time and I'm quite impressed with it all. There was an unintentionally funny bit where I shot a guy with the mini uzis while he was on the turret, at which point his body just went all geddan, it wasn't helping when another enemy got on the turret as the geddan got turned right the way up to 11. It had to end when I grenade killed both of them off the turret.

I'm playing through Dark Void at the minute. Actually better than I expected it to be. The on foot sections so far are competent, nowhere near as polished as Gears of War but they serve their purpose. I'm itching to get my hands on the Jetpack though

Thats great to know for when it comes PC side... my one main critisism with GTA4 was it was far too long, I dig to create a city of that scale for a mere 10 hours gamplay would not do it justice but to use the city as a platform to launch many small games is excellent!

Currently playing: Blood Bowl, Street Fighter 4, Tatsunoko Vs Capcom..

just beat staven in spirit tracks at the top of the tower.

that whole bit was difficult but perfectly so, not to hard i was just going to turn around and give up, but i definitely had to sit there for a second and examine the rooms and how i was going to make it through. real head scratching stuff for a while there. and, man, co-op boss battle was difficult. was quite clever, though, have to make zelda catch staven's fist while i swipe him with the sword, got quite intense while i was working out what to do. it was better than the chris and sheva fight in resi 5 anyway (is that high praise? i think so)

afterwards i got told there was only one dungeon left to do, which is a shame. i was really getting in to this game again after the pan flute bit, hope it doesn't end any time soon. might just travel around for a few hours and find as many secrets as possible so i can keep playing.

although the pan flute bits are needlessly hard, the rest of the game makes for possibly the strongest zelda entry since wind waker.

Played a bit more of Dark Void yesterday. Personally I am really enjoying the game so far (its leagues better than the demo that was released). One mission had me exploring the jungle for plane parts which ended up with a awesome battle fighting on the U.S.S Cyclops. The vertical cover element really helps to add a unique touch to standard firefights. I'm really impressed with it so far, I can't wait to see what later chapters have in store for me.

Started Batman AA recently. Really enjoying it, Arkham is interesting to explore & taking out badguys is a load of fun. Lots of little secrets & riddles etc. which are cool. Atmosphere is brill too & I like how Batman is getting progressively damaged after particular scenes.

However...... I dont think its that special so far. I dont uderstand how it could be close to beating UC2 in all those GoTY awards. Although im not the biggest fan of Batman (I am a fan though) so maybe that has something to do with it. Or maybe people are just jizzing over the fact its a great licenced game for a change... I dont know.

I've recently been playing Super Mario Bros Wii, but found myself shouting and swearing so much during that game out of sheer frustration, I've moved onto Assassins Creed 2, one of the best games in recent years in my opinion.

I've got sych a backlog (of games) now it's stupid- Borderlands, GTA: Episodes of Liberty City, Demon's Souls, Bayonetta, Mass Effect 2, Bioshock 2, Dante's Inferno...I really need to stop buying more and concentrate on what I've got! :)
