I think it's awesome that games are still made from time to time on classic formats but I don't see how the developers will make a profit from the gamers of today (except maybe from hardcore retro fans).

It's great that GamesTM mentioned the game in the latest issue's previews maybe they can give it a review once it's done

I don't think they do make make much money, since it's pretty expensive to make a small number of cartridges.

As for who will buy it, no doubt it will just be the hardcore retro fans. I guess they'll be limited in number, and priced to try and break-even. I think that's the way Beggar Prince worked.

Exactly. This is the one area of commercial videogame sales where the goal isn't to make a big profit. It's done as a labor of love.

Indeed.

However, Beggar Prince was very well-received, selling over 1,200 copies to people in over 25 countries. We're still selling it, in fact. Simultaneously, we are putting the finishing touches on our next MD RPG which will be released later this year.

The window has now closed for those wishing to grab themselves a Posterity pack and have your name eternally emblazoned within the game and manual

Not long until the release now! A good reason to dig out the old Mega Drive in time for Christmas! Pier Solar could well be the greatest gift I receive this year!

Noticed this little badboy on Play.com. 20 built in Sega games, I'm almost tempted. Although a DS with R4 would make more sense.

Hey there folks!
Just wanted to post a quick message to say we've just updated the Pier Solar site to be completely HTML based.

If you'd like to drop over and take a looky please feel free!

I had an eMail a couple of weeks ago informing me of the progress of Pier Solar. It seems that one of their designers has left the project and as a result all of their hard work has been lost also, therefore pushing the release date back to 2009 (Possibly May)

Whilst this is a major blow to all those involved and those waiting patietly, I think I speak for everyone when I say that I hope the extra time is used wisely to improve the game far beyond what it could have been if it were launched at Christmas

I do hope not too much work was lost though
