Oh please let this be true  I sure hope there is some mention/confirmation of this at E3 as I'd be over the moon, the series is one of my all time favourites and the story still has at least one game left in it.

I wonder if it would be Crystal Dynamics making the game though if true? They are currently hard at work on the new Tomb Raider reboot...

Something interesting that I stumbled across today:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=391332

A really cool hidden area in the original Blood Omen - A tavern/Ship which can be fully explored  I'm really tempted to dig out Blood Omen again to explore this bit, its a really cool easter egg. I wonder if it would have originally played a more major role in the game?

I thought you'd like it :D Unfortunately after reading about it some more you can't visit the area without a cheat where you can walk through walls (so its only possible on either the PC version or the PSX version on the original hardware with a cheat device :()

The rest of the thread is worth a read as well. There is a hidden underground area with tons of Werewolfs that I'd never seen before (that can be accessed without cheats). They put a hell of a lot of effort into the game that's for sure, I just wish they would finally remake the series/release a 6th Kain game already.

The PC version was better in that regard, far less load times and far shorter when there was one. I really need to get me the PC version again soon.

Considering Soul Reaver was also PSone, surely Blood Omen didn't make the ole grey box struggle that much?

Better coding/optimisation? I've not played Soul Reaver on the PSone, only Dreamcast and what I do remember was that it was huge (the number of times I got lost... I still keep the official guide handy) and it had next to no load times which still really impresses me. Is the PSone version the same load time wise?

Yep. It really did pioneer that particular idea, which as I've mentioned earlier it boggles the mind why after Soul Reaver did that on PSone why we still have loading times today?

Soul Reaver reboot?
http://www.vg247.com/2012/03/20/rumour- ... er-reboot/

Interesting if true, at least if the rumour is to be believed its Crystal Dynamics that are working on it and not another studio.

I wonder what this would mean for the story, will they start over, carry on where they left off or...? Also I remember reading at how SR was cut short and was supposed to end in a very different way to what happened in the end, it makes me wonder if the "reboot" would be closer to that version (if its even a reboot).

I'd personally love to see a true end to the series, after all it has a fantastic story throughout the games (even if BO2 is a bit wonky) but idealy I'd love to see a true end to the series. Still I can see why a reboot might be preferred, after all its been years since Defiance and it could potentially alienate newcomers to the series so a reboot might work in their favour?

As long as Raziel and Kain are in (with their original voice actors) then I'm game. Even though there was a rumour about a new LOK game last year for E3 and look how that went :(

Thats what these cash cow HD collections are for. I'm sick of great games being 're-imagined' to cater to the vapid wants of this lousy gen of gamers. Defiance and Legacy of Kain deserves a sequel and a continuation of IT'S storyline not some opportunist to do a Michael Bay on it.

As a fan of LoK I hope Squenix does a full on remake with character design done by Tetsuya Nomura and music done by Masashi Hamauzu. Like Shadowman stated a remake will work in their favour. Not many people outside of loyal fans buy HD collections, a remake or reimagining will let newcomers in on the ground floor with out feeling lost or confused.

Change the music/art of LOK  Blasphemy!!
My main problem with the idea of a remake is they will try to "improve" it by changing storylines etc and I just don't want them to shoehorn in a love interest, sidekick or humour into a series that thrived with none of those things. Now if they actually created the Original Soul Reaver game and built from that I'd have no problem with it as any sequel off of that would have no bearing on the series before.

Come on KC, the Artwork for this series is still better than most games now.
