This game reeks of being unfinished and goes down as this years first big disappointment.

The graphics are rough as anything on level 6 theres rocks that are floating slightly above the ground, every time an alien grabs me and I have to batter x to escape I get a graphical glitch of a big white box appearing on my screen.

Aliens clip through everything, the AI is useless, when there are aliens and weyland mercs on screen at once they dont attack each other, the pulse rifle sounds is wrong all the weapons lack any force, the human enemies are way more dangerous than the aliens.

I dont know what went wrong with this game but all the trailers we got of it made it look an awful lot better than its turned out, dont get me wrong I am getting some enjoyment from it but it should have been a whole lot better.

Excellent!!

Aliens: Colonial Marines "missing executable" error now resolved

Following reports that Australian and New Zealand Steam users could not runAliens: Colonial Marines due to a missing executable, Gearbox has resolved the issue. The Gearbox and Steamforums were alight overnight with reports that Australian and New Zealand customers were unable to play Aliens: Colonial Marines due to a "missing executable" error.Gearbox at first suspected the error was due to region locking, but even after Gearbox unlocked the game, people were still reporting problems. The issue appears to be resolved now, with Gearbox instructing users to restart Steam and verify the game cache if the problem persists.

Pretty disheartening to see what a drubbing this is getting, especially because I ordered the Full Idiot Edition with all the accompanying tat (what have I done!!!!).

Actually tried to cancel the order but it was too close to dispatch. What the hell, at least I'll get a nice unboxening (hopefully it smells nice). I'm one of the few who actually really enjoyed the last Rebellion AvP game, and that wasn't exactly critically lauded. Hoping I still get a bit of fun out of it. The MP at the very least should be a laugh.

It's currently got 50/100% average on Metacritic out of 23 reviews, which would suggest it's cack.

Glad I didn't get this now, phew!

completed it. average game which is full of bugs and glitches, play it if you are a massive fan of the series, not much to redeem it otherwise. have yet to try the multiplayer though. that is supposed to be the good part.

The rest is just porting stuff, so.....have they finally been found out?

There’s a rumor going around that Gearbox actually outscourced development to Timegate (Section 8 ) and is only responsible for the multiplayer part of Colonial Marines (source). Think of it what you want, but in my opinion, SEGA should just have cancelled the project years ago. It’s just bad PR for everyone involved.
