XBox 360 Kinect: A Personal Success story...

Back in November my mate brought round to my flat the xbox 360 kinect. After trying out the different games on kinect sports, i found that the Boxing game was the one that worked most muscles in my upper body...

I purchased it for myself in January. 4 times a week i have been using the kinect boxing, bundled with situps, pressups and weight training. Since then i have lost over 15 pounds in weight. I have been tryin to shift this weight for years, but no amount of gyms, clubs, or classes could motivate me. This is the only thing that has finally motivated me to exercise.

I honestly cant believe the difference it has made. Despite the amount of furniture i have to move about to get space lol. Has anyone else managed to be encouraged by the kinect for fitness purposes? And to think that you pay 30 quid a month in a gym, whereas i only paid 150 for my kinect and kinect sports.

I had a Wii FIt (well have....) but tbh I didn't expect it to change anything, and it hasn't really...

I just don't have enough room really for the kinect I have either sadly :(

I got Kinect and have had some success with Dance Central 2. It is a little more complex than I would have liked (the nature of the experience procludes it from being pick-up-and-play), but it still ends up with me sweating buckets. I also got a copy of Kinect Fitness Evolved although I haven't tried it yet.

Like all things it is a case of forcing yourself to play it. To me Kinect isn't all that more appealing than going to the gym. I haven't got quite enough space for it and have to move stuff around whenever I want to use it. Still, it allows a bit of variety.

Incidentally, I gave up on my Wii Fit since it started making my avatar look like a shapeless blob. I have only put on more weight since then so I think it will be a long time before I go back to it :|
