I'm surprised, I mean, Origins was a great game but I'm sure it didn't do well on the PS360, so why release the sequel on those platforms?
Then again, maybe UBISOFT noticed how poor the Wii U has done and were worried they wouldn't recoup the money.

I heard Origins was a slow burner. Although it didn't sell well out of the gate it continued to sell steadily over time. Of course I have no proof of this, just heard it on a podcast. But it could be true!

Also, 3 times the console 3 times the chance of possible sales. It just wasn't smart to restrict it to the WiiU. I think I'll still get my copy on WiiU, though. At this point kind of feels like it belongs there. Like Bayonetta on 360 or Assassin's Creed on PS3.

Shame Legends has been delayed :(

I very much enjoyed Origins and thought Legends was going to be bloody brilliant from the Wii U demo I played late last year.

Cant blame Ubi for wanting to bring it to other consoles and given its not a system seller its not going to do it any harm, then again an earlier release date for Wii U wouldn't exactly of hampered sales either.

I don’t care if a game is multiplatform or not if I own at least one of the consoles they release it on, but delaying it for six months now? That’s BioShock Infinite stuff. I’ve read somewhere that the developers aren’t pleased as well, because they have been working overtime since almost a year now. Well done UbiSoft. No one on the PS360 will care about it in September anyway because of GTA and maybe because they are saving for the Next Gen. I will pick it up for sure –– on WiiU –– but I don’t think this benefits the game at all.

However, I think the whole situation about Ninja Gaiden 3 is even worse. If I understand it correctly, the Razor’s Edge version coming for PS360 in April will again feature more content. So they actually released the same game in two-to-three months intervals three times since last autumn and always packed in more stuff. Not even Capcom has done that before. I’d feel slightly cheated if I were a hardcore NG fan who bought the other two versions already and having been thinking about buying Razor’s Edge for WiiU, I’ll again wait some more to see how the other versions turn out.

No different to what they done with Ninja Gaiden Sigma on PS3 post X-box release, apart from took a little while longer.
I wouldn't put it past that content hitting as DLC either.

Didn't capcom put extra content in resi 4 on PS2 as well?

Don't really get the 'Rayman Legends will now be up against GTA V :('. They're not the same genre, RL will be unaffected, the point is that Wii U has just lost an exclusive (and another reason to buy one).

But it wasnt a system seller, as much as I think Nintendo First Party titles are stale old and unoriginal, they are the predominant reason people buy Nintendo, was the same with Gamecube and N64

If nothing else marketing wise the game will be buried under GTA 5 and the presumed hype of the next gen consoles. While the existing release date would have given it more exposure in my opinion.

Fair point, I was just thinking that those looking to play the 2D platformer won't be bothered by GTA V, FIFA, CoD etc out at the same time.

Exclusives, especially timed ones, have less impact that they used to. Rayman will still sell steadily based on brand recognition.

I've been thinking about this a little and it does seem a weird choice.

I never expected this game to remain exclusive. I always expected other versions to follow but holding the Wii U version back is a straight up, bad business decision. Right now you have a bunch of Wii U owners yearning for something to play and this was a game that was always marketed as a "launch window" title; some of those folks are excited to play this dang game. These guys are early adopters; those with faith in the system and fans of games like Rayman Legends. While the current install-base of the Wii U is low it is fair to say most that did buy a Wii U will be well into buying that Rayman Legends, there.

And then in September when they release it on the other consoles they can sort of re-advertise it for the Wii U as well as the other consoles. You know, just remind people of its existence when it goes multiplatform and then you get maybe a few extra Wii U sales as well as all the new sales from PS360.

I dunno. I only have a GNVQ in Business Studies and I reckon I've come up with a better business model than them.

Call me, Ubisoft.

Hard to tell, I guess regardless of format its cheaper for a publisher to get games copied and printed up in mass, obviously I'm only taking a stab in the dark there, but I really cant see any other reason why they would hold it back.

Didn't realize you was such an expert from just glancing at them online. Hows GoW4 coming?
