To hell with Zombie U, man. It's too scary and too hard and I can't deal with it. I was just getting back from the first level and got cornered and died, it takes me back to the safe room and tells me to defend it, but now I don't have anything to do that with. Fucking. It seems really good, but my nerves are rattled and I can't continue right now.

That's right at the start of the game aswell, things get a hell of a lot harder towards the end.

Still with it though, it's a HELL of a good game!

Although I can understand the whole nerves thing, I never completed the original Dead Space and never played the 2nd game because I got too freaked out from it  , but this isn't too bad, more suspense than down-right bat-shit scariness (apart from 1 chapter....)

You should be able to just use your cricket bat to smash the Zombies heads in when they attack the safe house, it is difficult at the start I know but get about 3 hours in and you'll begin to pwn zombies.

Actually, I think it’s way harder at the beginning. From a certain point on, more or less as soon as you step into the Tower of London, I feel like you have collected enough weapons and ammunition to bypass the cricket bat regularly and go for instant kills with the shotgun or the sniper rifle, which makes most confrontations a lot easier. Of course, you still have to pay an enormous amount of attention when proceeding, but the actual fights become less and less dangerous as the game goes on. In contrast, it does become scarier on occasions, which is a good thing.

I’m not completely done with it though, so maybe the endgame will mess me up again. I’m currently right after the church thing and I suppose I’m nearing the finale.

I'm still kicking around in Buckingham Palace. Out of curiosity, how far into the game am I?

Well it took me another 4 survivors but I got past that bit eventually. Played all the way up to the bit in Buckingham Palace where you find the book for the doctor. I think the game is actually really good. It's certainly one of the two more interesting shooters I played from last year with the way it mixes different elements of games together, but individually I don't think any of the parts are stand out. It feels kind of low budget in every sense, but it scares the crap out of me so it's doing something right. I don't go in to a single room without pinging the radar or marking everything. Taking your eyes off of the screen to look at the pad for stuff also adds so much tension. It takes that whole "The scariest things are the ones you can't see" to an entirely new level.

It feels like it has the makings of being a cult hit. Probably won't be a major success or dazzle everyone, but the people it does get will be got hard.

The Buck house section is roughly a quarter/a third of a way through the game I'd say.

I agree with you, it does get easier because you get more powerful as you go further through the game and get more weapons, health packs and stuff...but I still found the last half of the game pretty damn difficult even with all the weapons and stuff. The last level I found pretty damn difficult even with all my weapons and health packs I'd accumulated.

You're probably 2-4 hours away from the finale from memory.

Fez is starting to click a lot more. I just got to the weird town where everyone speaks in shapes. This game makes me feel like a conspiracy theorist because I know there's supposed to be something weird about it so I'm scrutinising everything. But the extent of my scrutinising is "I bet that means something" and my results are "But I dunno what." I did manage to get 2 anti cubes so far, though. One was just basically given to me, but I think you're suppose to be given it, and the other one was a bit harder matching Tetris blocks. It was more of a spacial awareness puzzle than a brain matter one so, I dunno, man. Going to just concentrate on the yellow cubes for now until something gives.

Also started Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise and am now done with it. It seems like a lot of fun, but I have zero rhythm and have already met my match with the monkey clock game. Spent 20 minutes hitting the A button and I still couldn't even get past the practice. I'm ok with the games when they're visual and only need a little bit of timing, but when it's pure rhythm then I get no where.

Has anyone played Space Chem? I think I read a review for it a while back and it said that it was an interesting but very confusing puzzle game. I played it at a friend's house and despite me being completely baffled at first he was able to explain the bizarre mechanics to me so that I could kind of understand it. I eventually decided that it was awesome, especially when all of the parts start to feed into each other and create something really cool. It is ridiculously impenetrable but really rewarding. I liked it so much that I bought it in the Steam sale.

finally got around to buying Bastion for 360. Got this feeling it was on sale not to long ago? Had to pay 1200MS points for it, but the game is worth it anyway!

So I finished Fez last night, which I can only recommend people not do at 3 in the morning, but what do I do now? I know I'm supposed to decode the icons but I don't know how. Apparently the joy of the game is figuring it out for your self and not using the internet, but I don't think I'll be able to do it my self, but don't want to be robbed of the "Oh shit!" moment. Advice?

Tried Yakuza Dead Souls but despite the promise, the controls are shite. Why doesn't my guy turn with the camera instead facing the opposite direction I need him to every f.cking time!!
Played a bit of Rock Band 3, too. Forget how fantastic it can be when you hit a run.
Blackened still nails me, though.

I ended up using the strafe button most of the time in dead souls (holding down r1, but might be different for the euro default controls). It doesn't make the camera all that much better though so unless you can put up with a crazy camera most of the game you'll probably not get on with it. I got used to it in the end but it can still be a pain in certain places.

Right, given up on Fez. I did actually manage to crack the movement code once, but couldn't apply it to the rest of the world. So I started looking up the secrets online and god damn it. That game goes deep. Read about how you activate the movement stuff else where but what's the point at this stage? Just makes me feel bad that I couldn't figure it out my self. Not to mention the numbers and the alphabet, oh my god. How did people ever get that far? I couldn't even understand the answers when they were presented to me mind about trying to bust through the logic people used to get there.

At the end of the day I think, appreciating it from afar, it really is a stand out game - one of the best - but it just makes me feel bad about my self and that's not exactly what I was going for. Makes me both want to applaud and punch that guy who made it in the face.

Seems like a fun game, but that camera with that style of play is a let down. It's too hectic and death far too quick to be farting about with a camera that needs to be played as well. Shame.
