Ryse confirmed as an Xbox One exclusive

Following the announcement of the Xbox One, Crytek has teased the reveal of Ryse on 10 June, during Microsoft’s E3 2013 presentation.

The hack-and-slash adventure game drops players into the shoes of a soldier in the Roman Empire, and will let you “Fight as a soldier. Lead as a general. Rise as a legend.” According to Crytek’s website, Ryse will be coming exclusively to Xbox One and will be a “controller-based experience enhanced by Kinect.”

Ryse was first announced at E3 2010 as Codename: Kingdoms, though it then returned a year later as Ryse, with Microsoft confirming that  players would be able to control the main character entirely with Kinect. The Crytek website seems to indicate that Ryse will no longer be a Kinect only title, though it’s likely the motion sensor device will still play a big role in your time with the Roman Empire.

Until E3, you can watch the 2011 trailer below.
